5 students, 3 teachers awarded for their entrepreneurial acumen

MANILA, Aug. 3 (PNA) — Education Secretary Jesli Lapus announced the five high school students and three teacher-entrepreneurs from Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Zamboanga del Norte and Cagayan are this year’s Department of Education (DepEd) 3rd Teen Go Negosyo Entrepreneurship awardees held at the Teachers Camp in Baguio city.

Lapus identified the awardees as Micah Pascual, a 4th year high school student of the Constancio Padilla High School in San Jose, Nueva Ecija; Flomel Pacis, Jennifer Sombillo and Emerson Valondo all graduating students of the Carlos Gonzales High School in San Rafael, Bulacan and Suset Nasareth Redillas, 15, of Sindangan Agricultural School in Zamboanga del Norte.

Remote schools receive textbooks from DepEd’s “Textbook Walk”

MANILA (PNA) — Schools in far-flung areas will receive textbooks from the Department of Education (DepEd) through the 2008 National Textbook Delivery Program.

“Talking about DepEd would also be talking about the Filipinos’ time-tested and revered value of Bayanihan. Through the “Textbook Walk,” the department, CSOs, NGOs and other partners are walking the talk on textbooks,” Education secretary Jesli Lapus said.
